VOCAL MASSAGE
What is it?
Vocal massage is a gentle, hands-on patient centred treatment. It uses specially developed Myofascial Release and soft tissue manipulation techniques, freeing up the muscles around the larynx and vocal tract, jaw and face. The purpose is to relax and relieve tension and soothe vocal discomfort or irregularities. It can be done with patient sitting or lying on a massage table.
Why have it?
Vocal massage can be sought by anyone but especially those who have discovered they have, for example: vocal fatigue, jaw tension, acid reflux or who are experiencing Muscle Tension Dysphonia (MTD). It can be hugely beneficial as part of vocal rehabilitation following a vocal injury or illness.
Who does it?
Rachel Nicholson trained in Vocal massage with Kate Valentine of Valentine Voice Care and has complete all 6 modules of the voice care training designed by the Voice Care Centre, London. Rachel will be available at Edinburgh Voice Care.
